GranBio is recognized for the 4th time Pró-Éthics by Ministry of Transparency and CGU

São Paulo, December 7, 2017 – GranBio's efforts to promote a more upstanding, ethical and transparent corporate environment have once again been recognized. The 100% Brazilian industrial biotechnology company founded by Bernardo Gradin is, for the fourth consecutive time, on the list of Pro-Ethics Companies of the Ministry of Transparency, Inspection and Comptroller General of the Union (CGU).
The initiative created by the Ministry in partnership with the Ethos Institute aims to promote a transparent and honest atmosphere among companies. To this end, it publicly recognizes the efforts of the public and private sectors, which invest in good measures to prevent and combat fraud and corruption. The announcement of the 23 companies that make up the list was made during the 4th Clean Company Law Conference, in Brasília, an event that also promoted the debate on topics related to the application of the Clean Company Law, also known as the Anti-Corruption Law.

The president of GranBio, Bernardo Gradin, emphasizes the importance of this award for the company. “It is very rewarding to be part of the list of Pro-Ethics Companies again. This recognition reaffirms GranBio's commitment to ethics and shows that we are still on the right path, in addition, it reinforces the importance of the principles and values ​​that permeate our way of acting and relating to all audiences”, says Gradin. The company obtained the Pro-Ethics Company seal for the first time in 2013, with only two years of existence, the youngest to be part of the list.
Companies that enroll in Pró-Ética have their integrity program initiatives evaluated by a management committee, which takes into account aspects such as the level of commitment of top management and commitment to ethics, in addition to policies and procedures integrity procedures, communication and training actions, reporting channels, risk analysis and monitoring, among others. In 2017, 375 companies signed up, a 92% increase over the previous year.

GranBo's Compliance coordinator, Criatiane Oliveira, explains how companies can take advantage of the committee's assessment to improve their programs and measures each year. “When we participate in Pró-Ética, we receive a report, prepared by a group of specialists, which provides a detailed analysis of our integrity and control procedures. This material gives us the basis to continue improving our practices and to follow the right path”, emphasizes Cristiane.
